To provide support and empower all women in the state, the Tamil Nadu Government has reopened the Women Empowerment initiative, known as the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Scheme, under which the Government aims to provide financial assistance to all eligible women across the state. Under this initiative, the Government will provide financial assistance of INR 1000 to all the eligible female beneficiaries selected under this initiative. About Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Scheme
The Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu State has launched this Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Scheme on 15th September 2023 in Kancheepuram on the Birthday of C N Annadurai. According to this initiative the Government aims to provide financial help and support to all the eligible females across the Tamil Nadu State. Under this initiative, the Government will provide financial help of INR 1000 monthly to all the female heads of the family. The financial assistance will be transferred directly to the beneficiary’s bank accounts by DBT Process. According to the reports released by the Tamil Nadu Government, approximately 1.14 crore females have been approved to be beneficiaries under this Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Scheme.

Purpose of Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Scheme
The main purpose behind this Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Scheme is to empower women across the Tamil Nadu State by providing them with financial help and support. According to this scheme, the Government will provide financial help of INR 1000 monthly to all the female heads of the family across the state. With the help of this, the women don’t have to depend on anyone for their daily needs and requirements and they will be able to manage their expenses and needs.
