What is Indira Soura Giri Jala Vikasam ?
On Thursday, 15th May, the Honorable Chief Minister of Telangana State announced this groundbreaking farmers’ welfare initiative named Indira Soura Giri Jala Vikasam to provide agricultural support to all the farmers belonging to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) Community. According to this scheme, the Government aims to provide Solar Powered Irrigation Services to all the farmers who hold land under Right to Forest Department (RoFR) Lands for five years. This initiative aims to benefit areas such as Horticulture Development, Land Development, and Solar Powered Pumps for irrigation techniques. With the help of this initiative, the farmers will be able to get access to new techniques of agriculture so that they can do proper farming. As per the reports stated by the Officials, the Government has allocated a total budget of INR 12,600 Crores for the implementation of this scheme.
