The Government of Assam State has launched a female empowerment initiative called Assam Nijut Moina Scheme to provide financial help to all the Girl Students across Assam State. Under this scheme, the Government will provide financial assistance as the Admission Incentive to all the Girl Students across the state who have enrolled in Government Institutions. With the help of this scheme, girls can continue their education without having any financial issues with their studies.

About Assam Nijut Moina Scheme
The Honorable Chief Minister of Assam, Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma, has launched the Assam Nijut Moina Scheme in August. According to this scheme, the Government will provide financial help as an Admission Incentive to all the Girl Students across the state. Under this scheme, the Government will provide a financial assistance of INR 1000 for 10 months to all the female students who are in Class eleven, and financial help of INR 1250 will be provided to all the girls who are pursuing Graduation, and INR 2500 will be provided to girls who are doing Post Graduation.

Each financial help provided will be provided for 10 months straight to all the girls. According to the Government, the Authorities will provide financial incentives to over 10 Lakh female students across the state. The Authorities have allocated a financial budget of INR 1500 crores for the implementation of this scheme.
Purpose of Assam Nijut Moina Scheme
The main purpose behind this Nijut Moina Scheme is to provide admission incentives to all the Girl Students across the Assam State so that they can continue their further studies without having financial problems. Under this scheme, the Government will provide financial help to all female students who are in class eleven and all those girls who want to do Graduation and post-graduation. With the help of this scheme, the Dropout Rate among girls’ students will reduce, and the percentage of girls’ students educated beyond matriculation will increase.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be permanent residents of Assam State.
- Only Girl students are eligible to apply under this scheme.
- Married Girls are not eligible except those who are pursuing P.G. & B.Ed. Category.
- Daughters of Ministers/MP’s are not eligible to avail benefits under this scheme.
Amount to be Provided to Girls under this Nijut Moina Scheme
- Each girl who has enrolled in class eleventh will get financial assistance of INR 1,000 for 10 months straight, totaling INR 10,000 in 10 months.
- Financial help of INR 1250 will be provided to all the girls who are pursuing Graduation (B.A./B.Sc/B.Com) for 10 months, totaling 12,500 provided as an admission incentive.
- A Financial Incentive of INR 2500 will be provided to girls who are pursuing Post-Graduation (M.A/M.Sc/M.Com/B.Ed) for 10 months, totaling INR 25,000 as benefits.

- After that all the head of the Institute or school will start implementing the Assam Nijut Moina Scheme.
