About Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme

The Honorable Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi, led a Union Cabinet meeting on 1 July, Tuesday, and approved the Employment Linked Incentive Scheme under which the Government aims to create and provide employment opportunities for all the eligible unemployed youth across the Nation. Under this initiative, the Authorities aim to create more than 3.5 crore jobs, especially in the manufacturing sectors in India, for over 2 years. Along with the around 1.92 Crore beneficiaries, will be the first time employers, and they will get a monthly salary of up to INR 15,000 along with incentives provided to them for over two years.

This ELI Scheme is a part of the PM’s Five Scheme Package launched by the Prime Minister of India. Benefits provided under this scheme will be provided to those jobs that were created between August 1, 2025, to July 31, 2027. As per the reports stated by the Authorities, the Government has allocated a total budget of INR 99,446 crores for the implementation of this scheme.

Eligibility Criteria

  • This Scheme will mainly target first-time Employees.
  • Applicants must be registered under the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).
